CF-104 "785" of 441 "Silver Fox" squadron

CF-104, Canadair Model CL-90, Lockheed Model 683-04-12, construction number 683A-1085, built by Canadair
first flight May 7, 1962; taken on service by RCAF as CF-104 serial number 12785 on October 24, 1962; first unit 1 Air Division in Europe
reserialed as 104785 effective June 1970
441 sqn "Silver Fox" "Checkerbird" was hurriedly painted sometime in 1981 for the Squadron Commander Larry Crab 1000th hour in CF-104s
and permission had neither been sought nor received from the people who were supposed to be asked;
also, the white paint was a home brew and they had the devil of a time removing it
struck off service July 24, 1983; on pole at CFB Baden-Sollingen 1983; after closure donated to city of Söllingen in 1993
displayed in city of Söllingen 2004 noted, (the ac looks very weathered); restoration in 2015; September 2024 noted.
