delivery date September 30, 1957, AMC (Air Material Command) September 1957-1960; converted to JF-104B, ARDC (3214 OMS) April 1960-January 1963
AF Proving Ground Center (AFPGC) for drone support of 3205 DS; written off January 8, 1963; It crashed near Eglin AFB, FL. Compressor stall due to FOD in the fuel control resulted in engine failure.
Several air-starts were initiated which resulted in power loss, both pilots ejected safely. pilot of the 3025 DS were on a chase flight and lost engine power at 500 feet and 400 kts.
Aircraft was zoomed to 4.000 feet. Pilots were unable to regain sufficient power to sustain flight.
