CF-104D "8-658" 182 Filo of 8 Wing TuAF at Murted AB in July 1993 CF-104D, Lockheed model 583-04-15, Canadair construction number 583A-5328, RCAF serial number 12658, Mk.2 (Dual Operational Aircraft)taken on service by RCAF as CF-104D Mk 2 (Dual Training Aircraft) serial number 12658 on November 3, 1964; 3 Wing Zweibrucken, Germany; reserialed as 104658 effective June 2, 1970 439 Squadron of 1 CAG (Canadian Air Group) at CFB Baden-Sollingen, Germany; suffered compressor stall after FOD ingestion, and engine failure during climb out on flight to Denmark on June 27, 1975, pilot recovered to base with dead engine; struck of charge March 11, 1986
MAP to Turkey on March 19, 1986 as "8-658" with 181/182 Filo of 8 Wing at Diyarbakir AB (TuAF 64-658); stored Diyarbakir AB 1994-2000 back to Canada at Markham Museum, Canada in December 2000; "8-658" display outdoors "Canadian Air Land Sea Museum" (CALSM), Markham, Ontario, in TuAF marks; 2002 noted September 2022 last noted. The CF-104D was obtained by Steve Alex in November 2023. On November 14, loaded on a truck for its new destination. It traveled by truck to Compton, California. it is now in a complete static display restoration phase.
