F-104G "D-8243" RNLAF formation from Volkel AB 1972 F-104G, construction number 683D-8243, model 683-10-19, built by Fokkermanufactured by North Group (ARGE-Nord); D-8244 taken on charge on May 22, 1964 coded KG+343 at Fokker-Schiphol; departed Fokker on May 26, 1964 for Twenthe operated at Twenthe for initial training; to 312 squadron at Volkel AB on March 30, 1966 with camouflage scheme; 322-323 squadrons pool at Leeuwarden May 9, 1973 June 25, 1973 written off with 312 squadron at Volkel AB after it dropped it pylontanks when the pins were pulled at last check and burned out, pilot was ok the firebrigade could not safe the aircraft which burned out completely; remains were used as instructional airframe at Schaarsbergen; scrapped later. copyright © KLu archive
