F-104J "675" (56-8675) 204 Hikotai of 5 Wing at Tsuiki AB November 1976 F-104J, construction number 683B-3175, model 583-07-14, serial number 56-8675, built by MitsubishiMitsubishi built; delivery date March 15, 1965, JASDF 5 Wing 204 squadron at Tsuiki AB 29.06.1977 midair collision with 56-8668 during low altitude intercept mission, pilot killed, 204 squadron collided and crashed into East China Sea, south of Tomie island, Gotou Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture, based at Nyuutabaru AB, Miyazaki Prefecture; two pilots were killed. 204 Squadron was formed on December 1, 1964 at Nyutabaru AB, with 5 Air Wing, with F-104 as a Conversion Training Squadron (CTU). The 204 became a Fighter Interceptor Squadron at the end of 1981 due to completion of the F-104 pilot training.
