The system is designed to be carried in a container and can be towed by most aircraft. Real time scoring is available inside the cockpit of the tow aircraft. The target comprises two main components: An aerodynamic module containing the MDI. A cruciform wing is used to assist visual acquisition of the target in flight. Radar acquisition is assured by a radar reflector on the wing. The Dart was able to register the hits and the hits in the vicinity of the Dart (3 metres) and send the results to a ground station. The Dart was dropped overhead the airfield on a parachute, repaired and made ready for the next mission.
