taken on service October 2, 1962 with 3 Wing at RCAF Station Zweibrucken, Germany
operated by 427 (ST/A) Squadron when it crashed on July 23, 1963 into sea at Capo Frasca range after a practice weapons delivery mission
at Sardinia 3 NM north of Capo Frasca Range; the pilot was killed (CFIT)
he was on a bombing run at the Capo Frasca range during a deployment at Decimomannu AB
it was thought that a slow topple of the LN-3 inertial navigation system coupled with very hazy flight visibility were responsible for his demise; wreckage was not recoverable.
