CF-104 "732" 6 ST/R OTU (Operational Training Unit) from Cold Lake, Canada @ Abbotsford Airshow, August 1970 CF-104, Canadair model CL-90, Lockheed model 683-04-12, Canadair construction number 683A-1032, RCAF serial number 12732, built by Canadairreceived as 12732 on April 24, 1962; first unit 6 ST/R OTU; reserialed as 104732 effective June 1970 crashed April 30, 1982 with 417 OTS, Cold Lake after loss of control during Air Combat Training ACT (flat spin) during a Fighter Weapons Instructors' Course (FWIC), pilot Capt Dave Ghyselincks ejected safely, Lockheed C-2 seat, written off struck of service December 15, 1982. I was in Alberta with 417 Squadron for a Fighter Weapons Instructors' Course (FWIC), but otherwise really belonged to 441 Squadron in Baden-Söllingen at the time of the ejection. The airplane was in a Flat Spin with an aft center of gravity and would not recover.
