476th TFS "Blue Knights" of 479 TFW (479th Tactical Fighter Wing)  from George AFB full squadron deployment (TDY-temporary duty) at Moron AB, Spain 1959

We flew from George to Myrtle Beach with one KB-50 refueling. Then on to the naval station at Kindley AB, Bermuda.
The following day one air refueling to Lajes in the Azores and then on to Moron AB.
This was the 479th Tac Fighter Wing deployment base for several years in the late 50's and early 60's.
In September 1961 we had two squadrons in Germany for the Berlin crisis. One at Ramstein and one at Bitburg, then only one squadron at Flugplatz Hahn in early 1962.
